The end of the world is nigh

Standing at the inauguration ceremony with all the world's eyes on the first family-elect Bigly turned to a radiantly smiling Kitty, "Look at Princess, now she looks like a First Cat, you look like the maid."

As soon as he turned back to his adoring—but sparse—crowds Kitty's face changed to one of pure misery and despair—a broken cat.

Political commentator Salem Colpurr reporting from the inauguration:

"The crowds on the Mall are somewhat sparse compared to previous inaugurations. How will President-elect Bigly cope with this lack of validation?"

The actual inauguration ceremony passed with no incidents, apart from the moment where President-elect Bigly was narrowly missed by a bolt of lightning that hit the dais as he placed his hand on a stack of two bibles—one masquerading as his family bible.

Political commentator Salem Colpurr:

"And President Bigly has stepped onto the dais to give his inauguration address. Will we now see him taking on a presidential demeanor, or carrying on in the same manner as campaign Bigly and President-elect Bigly."

The inaugural tirade delivered by President Bigly was reminiscent of darker times when an insignificant cat with short black whiskers had used rhetoric to incite hate and violence, and to plunge the world into six years of terror and genocide. President Bigly's speech was, of course, written by his Chief Strategist Pickle and leaned so far right even the flat-earthers lost sight of it.

Political commentator Salem Colpurr:

"With a speech laden with references to Purrican carnage, abandoned factories like tombstones, poverty, uneducated people, crime, drugs, and gangs what sort of country does President Bigly think he's living in? Quite frankly listening to this depressing monologue we might as well all bend over and lick our furry butts goodbye."

Sixteen minutes later, with the inauguration speech completed, President Bigly clenched his paws in triumph and punched the air knowing he was now unstoppable and could run the United States of Purrica as an autocracy...

Political commentator Salem Colpurr:

"As expected the President's inauguration speech was short, just 16 minutes, but wait... did the President of the United States of Purrica really just fist the crowd? He did! Well that certainly sets the tone for the next four years of a Bigly administration."
